Cleveland SRP Playing Day

We have invited Matthew Taylor, musical director of York Guildhall Branch to conduct our May meeting. Visitors from other branches will be most welcome. Date: Saturday 12th May 2012, 2.00pm - 5.00pm.

SRP Annual Festival

Cleveland Recorder Society hosted the Society of Recorder Players National Festival in 2009. This successfully took place on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th April, 2009.

The 2012 Festival will be at Effingham Hill, nr Dorking, Surrey on the 21st and 22nd April 2012. More details from the SRP Website

The North East Recorder Orchestra (NERCO)

NERCO is our regional recorder orchestra and meets on the fourth Saturday of the month in Newcastle. Some Cleveland SRP members are also members of NERCO. NERCO give periodic concerts and try to ensure that they are spread throughout the region. The next concert will be on Saturday 5th May, 2012 at St. Anne's Church, Newcastle.

Recorder Summer School

The Recorder Summer School is held annually in July. Since 2007 it has been at Bishop Burton College near Beverley. The dates for 2012 are 28th July - 4th August. Details may be found on the Recorder Summer School Website.

Scottish Recorder Festival

The annual Scottish Recorder festival is half day event organised by the Scottish Branches in rotation. The 2011 Festival was on Saturday 14 May, 2011. The date of the 2012 Festival is yet to be announced. Details will be available on the SRP website in due course.

Norvis

NORVIS Early Music summer school is held annually in Durham. Dates for 2011 are 28th July - 4th August. Details may be found on the NORVIS website.

Folkworks

For those who like to play traditional music, Folkworks, based at the Sage, Gateshead, run a series of events and workshops including an Annual Summer School, a series of workshops including "Absolute Beginners'"days where you can try out a new instrument.
